Ojamas Holds the Phones

December 17, 2008

An update from their Obama Community Blog:

All orders placed before 12/15 are either already in the mail or being shipped this weekend with an estimated delivery before Christmas (12/23-24).  There will be some that will arrive later, but it is impossible to tell which ones as the US Postal Service is making excellent progress with in all geographies so far.  We are dedicating all of our resources to printing labels and postage and packaging orders for shipment from now until all orders placed through 12/15 have been mailed.

If you’d like to know the status of your order specifically, please send an email to service@ojamas.us and include the invoice number as well as your last name.  We ask that you do not call us for status updates on the shipment of existing orders at this time.  Phone requests for status are not being answered because it takes our staff away from packing and shipping which are are tasks that require human concentration and focus.  Answering phones to search for status can introduce distractions that cause errors which we are stringently trying to avoid at this critical time to ensure that everyone receives error-free delivery. We’ll be back to answering the phones as usual after we’ve shipped everything ordered through 12/15 (estimated Monday, 12/22).

Orders placed after 12/15 are being delivered as soon as possible. Most will be shipped before 12/23.  We thank all of you for your enthusiastic embrace of Ojamas and for your patience as we deliver them to you as quickly as possible.

Our award for the most intelligent, creative, and fun idea goes to Ojamas Sleepwear. Which came first, the name or the product design? The Michigan company playfully conjured up the idea by thinking of words real and imagined that rhymed with Obama. Pajama was one of the first words that came to mind and the contraction was an immediate and obvious winner. They considered several design ideas, and settled on the

“all-over O” in a staggered step-and-repeat pattern which has drawn praise from as far away as Australia where World News called them “the latest in political fashion chic.” Originally planned to ship world-wide in time for the Democratic National Convention, the factory hit a snag and the initial product varied too significantly from the original design specification. They were sent back to square one and are now planning to begin filling a backlog of orders by the second week of October, just in time for the presidential election. A portion of the proceeds from sales are to be donated to the Obama/Biden campaign. Well done, Ojamas. I’ll take five pairs. To order yours, visit www.Ojamas.us.
